Gothic Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2024

Gothic fashion tends to have a timeless allure, but every season brings its own twists and interpretations. As the world evolves, Gothic fashion remains a steadfast symbol of self-expression and non-conformity, enticing both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike into its enigmatic embrace. For spring/summer 2024, here are some potential trends within the gothic fashion scene:

  1. Sheer Layers: Experimenting with sheer fabrics like chiffon or mesh can add a delicate yet edgy element to traditional gothic looks. Think sheer blouses, skirts, or dresses layered over darker pieces. Personally, I love a long sleeved sheer dress shirt over a tight black tank top.

  2. Victorian Influences: Victorian-inspired silhouettes and details continue to be a staple in gothic fashion. Look for high-neck blouses, lace trims, corsets, and ruffled accents to add a romantic and vintage touch to your outfits. Interview With The Vampire season 2 is about to be released on Amazon Prime if you're looking for some inspiration. Honestly, what's sexier than a vampire in a ruffled shirt?

  3. Southern Gothic: Ethel Cain, Orville Peck, and Beyonce! Southern Gothic has never been more in! Yes, country can be absolutely gothic! Within our gothic jewelry collection, we have bolos (see our Baroque Cross String Bolo Tie or our Big Sacred Heart Bolo tie), our cufflinks (see our Rose Cufflinks or our X Skull Cufflinks). All our pieces are made of sterling silver and trends aside, are a perfect staple to add to your permanent jewelry collection. Pictured below is our resident ginger, Tristan, wearing our Big Sacred Heart Bolo Tie and one of many sterling silver gothic septums. Cowboy shirt is from Shein, and enamel lapel pins from Fabled Creative. You too can be a Goth Western Baddie!

  5. Statement Sleeves: Dramatic sleeves, such as bishop sleeves, balloon sleeves, or exaggerated ruffles, can elevate any gothic ensemble, adding flair and interest to your look. You're not really doing summer unless your sleeves are billowing in the wind. Pictured below is a generic "pirate" shirt I bought in both in black & in white, and I consider them beach wear! P.S. Also wearing Inchoo Bijoux's Oversized Shield Septum!

  6. Mixed Textures: Experimenting with different textures can add depth and visual interest to your outfits. Mix leather, lace, velvet, and metallic accents to create a rich and dynamic look. Even if you like dressing all in black, mix it up with some velvet and leather!

  7. Statement Accessories: Accessorizing is key in gothic fashion, and for 2024, statement accessories like chunky chains, oversized belts, chokers, and ornate hair accessories can help complete your look and add a bold finishing touch. If you want something truly unique, you could go for our one-of-a-kind Sterling Silver Cathedral Belt Buckle, created specifically for our Paris Fashion Week show in 2023.

  8. Monochrome Styling: Embrace the darkness with monochrome styling in shades of black, charcoal, and deep burgundy. Opting for head-to-toe black can create a sleek and sophisticated gothic look. Personally, I would challenge you to do an all red monochromatic look, or all white- but make it goth! I love Julia Fox's red carpet look at the Canne's Film Festival, 2023!

  9. Gender Fluidity: Gender fluidity continues to be a prominent theme in fashion, and the gothic scene is no exception. Experiment with traditionally masculine and feminine elements to create a unique and androgynous style. When shopping, don't let the "women's section" or the "men's section limit you, follow what YOU like. Also, check out a few of our favourite unisex (gender-neutral) pieces on our online shop- Our staple Graveyard Ring and our Quatre Foils Bracelet, both in sterling silver!

Remember, gothic fashion is all about self-expression and individuality, so feel free to mix and match these trends to suit your personal style and preferences!
