Gothic jewelry and a love for Mother Earth? Yep, that's us!

1. Sourcing Ethically and Sustainably: Beneath the surface of every piece of jewelry lies a story of responsible sourcing. We meticulously select materials such as recycled metals- We reuse our silver metal scraps and melt them back into reusable materials! We source our gemstones from a local gemologist who goes into the field to buy them first hand, ensuring that they are all ethically sourced. All of our diamonds are lasered marked for traceability. By choosing sustainable materials, we honor the earth's resources and protect the communities that rely on them.

2. Crafting with Consciousness: Within the walls of our atelier, sustainability is woven into every step of the crafting process. We prioritize energy-efficient practices and waste reduction techniques, minimizing our impact on the environment without compromising on quality or creativity. We reuse medical machines for oxygen to do our soldering instead of oxygen tanks! Most of the wood in our workshop (employee stations. work tables, shelves, etc.) is made from old theatre sets that have been taken apart and reused! Our jewelry is also made to last! It can be repaired (contrary to cheap fast fashion) and you can come back to our boutique for a cleaning and repolish (we include a life time guarantee for this service)! Each piece is crafted with care and intention, reflecting our deep reverence for the planet.

3. Embracing Eco-Friendly Packaging: Beyond the jewelry itself, our commitment to sustainability extends to every aspect of the customer experience. Our packaging is thoughtfully designed using eco-friendly materials, from paper and cotton for packaging, recycled cardboard, and second use styrofoam. We push for e-mailing receipts instead of printing paper and for clients to bring in their own reusable bags. We believe that the journey of our jewelry should be as sustainable as the pieces themselves.

4. Plants, Plants, Plants!: This one will make our social media manager happy! They have been tending to the office plants and have doubled our plants within a year! Cuttings and new plant babies have been giving away to employees, neighbors, and clients- Not only a gift, but promoting community! Another bonus: we definitely have some clean and well oxygenated air in our boutique and workshop! Indoor Greenery can boost oxygen levels and remove harmful pollutants such as carbon dioxide and formaldehyde! See the bottom of the post for some plant deliciousness!

5. Office Life: How do we bring the idea of being eco-friendly to our daily life here at the Inchoo Workshop? It's the little things, they do add up! As mentioned we have our office plants that we tend to (greenery is important!), we use reusable energy for heating and electricity, we do our dishes by hand to avoid the overuse of water from dishwashers, and we do our office laundry cleaning in cold water and hang to dry. And it might seem obvious- we have an office coffee maker! We definitely have some caffeine addicts but having an office coffee maker cuts down on plastics from take outs! Together, we're working towards a brighter, greener future for our planet and all who call it home.
