Let's start out our Witchy tour of Paris with a bang! Or is it a meteor? Within the labyrinth of Montmartre sits a mysterious rock called the Rocher de la Sorcières. No one really knows where it came from, as the stone is not local. There are many legends about the rock, but a common one is that it's the home of an evil witch. Is it just a rock? Perhaps a portal between worlds?

2) La Petite Ceinture

If one goes to Paris, one must simply do a photoshoot! Why not take some photos in the unusual greenspace right in Paris? La Petite Ceinture was a circular railway built as a means to supply the city's fortification walls, a line that was started by Napoleon III and Baron Haussmann, his influential city planner, also responsible for Paris' beautiful tree lined boulevards. Now it's become a beautiful green hidden path with strange vegetation and wildlife. The line is accessible from many of Paris' arrondissements ie the 12th,13th,14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th. Make sure to use your flash if you decide shoot in the long, dark tunnels. 

3) La Maison de la Radiesthesie 

For some witchy shopping, why not visit the oldest esoteric shop in Paris? We recommend La Maison de la Radiesthesie, or in English- 'The House of Divination". Crystals, books, pendulums, tarot cards- why not bring home an unusual Parisian gift for a witchy friend? And at the same time, maybe you could find yourself a new spellbook. 

4) Musee Jaquesmart-Andre

Ok, full disclosure- The Jaquesmart-Andre museum is closed until September 2024 for renovations BUT keep this on your witchy Paris bucket list (and if you're reading this in autumn 2024, hello witches from the future!). This is a private museum and something for the more extravagant/ maximalist witches. The mansion was constructed in 1869 by a wealthy art collecting couple, Edouard Andre & Nelie Jaquemart and is a fairytale-like setting, where they held extravagant parties and displayed their carefully curated art collection. And we do love a hidden secret: While hosting parties, the opulent couple would transform The Picture Gallery, The Grand Salon, and The Music Room into a giant large ballroom by having the walls sink to the floors using a complex hydraulic system. A perfect museum for a sumptuous witch. 

5) The Sorbonne Observatory 

For our last witchy thing to do, let's make it truly unusual! A night visit to an observatory where astronomy was taught to students a century ago. A 17th century building with astronomy equipment that dates back to the 1930s (and still works) that you get to tour and take in a panoramic view of Paris at night. The City of Lights. A city for witches. 

And if the weather is right, you might be able to see the moon and planets through the telescope. Tickets are very limited and only available on Monday or Friday evenings!
